Also the T5's are supposed to run cooler than the PC's, so to add another 20w's of power with 2 65w PC's would probably bring the temp issues. Link to comment

aquamac Posted February 14, 2007 Author Share Posted February 14, 2007 I'm contemplating fuge options now...just a matter of blocking light from entering the main tank thru the smoked rear glass, and how to mount the fuge light. Not sure what makes a T5 HO. These are marked 55 watt. A 'normal' single T5 HO is 24 watts for a two foot bulb. As far as when water will be in it...not fast enough! Link to comment

FYI...Finnex did not come up with the refugium for their tanks...this was an after market upgrade by Nanocustomers...based on the info their clientel was requesting the refugium. Actually depending on your bioload and maintence schedule rain trays can come in handy... Obviously the filtering (which can become nitrate factory if not cleaned often) Great way to add filter bags of media (phosban, chemipure , poly filter etc) But main purpose is a natural way of cooling the water with out adding chiller. 0.02 Very nice tank Aquamac!!!! Looks great...only the lighting looks extremely on low end for a tank that size. Izzue Link to comment

aquamac Posted February 14, 2007 Author Share Posted February 14, 2007 I calculate the tank volume (not including the filtration area) is about 27.6 gallons using inside dimensions, and not accounting for live rock displacement. With 110 watts, this is a minimum of about 4 watts/gallon, which should be plenty of light and not too much heat. I suppose the hood could be modded for more light but then fans would have to be added, etc. Link to comment

It's just that these other manufacturers for some reason cannot get it through their head to listen to the customers requests. I don't understand why one of these companies can't build a tank that will not need up grades...good lights, flow, fuge, fuge light, QUALITY. Red Sea made an attempt but also skimped on some necessary things like lighting and the fuge Link to comment
