yawannatussle
I recently bought live rock which had apstaisia growing on it. Of course I looked into all sorts of remedies and decided to try the hot vinegar. Took pics and everything so you all could see. I went to walmart and bought an earwax removal syringe. and white distilled vinegar After heating the vinegar in a shot glass i filled the syringe and went after my biggest apstaisia. After the first blast it turned blue and shriveled up like so then I do another blast and it really shrank and looked like this I did two smaller ones and they have disappeared completely. No blue just gone. Watcha think? Link to comment

holy carp
Did you keep track of the impact to pH in the tank? Or was this done outside the aquarium? Link to comment

ajmckay
The injection method definitely works. I've used lemon juice to take out larger aiptasia on several occasions. To keep the introduction of lemon juice, or vinegar, or whatever to a minimum I would use a hypodermic needle syringe. You can buy them from a pharmacist for like 25 cents. Get a 10mL one. This allows you to inject the anemone directly and deliver the contents internally. I would give it a few days or a week before declaring them dead officially. They can shrink up to basically nothing for some time. Link to comment
