edd29
Current FTS: April 2015 _________________________________________________________________________________________ February 2015 __________________________________________________________________________________ Greetings all! Wanted to share my new Fusion 10. Extremely happy with it. I upgraded from a 1.5gallon in which I was sad to let go but I knew it was the best decision I could make. It required a lot of attention, and wanted a fish as well. So I figured for the price, I could not say no. The pico. http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/344943-15-gallon-pico-new-tank/#entry4706974 Some of the corals I kept, some I added on since the pico went down. I had a few problems with the pump which eventually failed and I lost some SPS. The Fusion gave me the option for an ATO, wavemaker, and even a refugium. This tank will be filled with mostly Zoas. My goal is to keep everything of the sand and on the rocks to give it a cleaner look. Currently I have corals on the sand to recuperate. Eventually I will send it back. I will take close ups of all corals tomorrow. That way I can see if there is any growth. Acan was looking huge today. Figured I would take a picture. Link to comment

edd29
Wow, I really like your set up. Im gonna have to move my Jebao WP-10 where you have yours. How do you like the Pico Skim 2.0? i have been debating on getting one. Do you have any pics of the rear chambers. Looks Great Thank you! I really like the Jebao WP-10 so far. I believe that I might have too much flow on the zoas that are placed on the left side. So I still have to mess around a bit. I might just move the zoas somewhere else and see how they react. The Pico Skim 2.0 is my first skimmer ever, so I don't have much to compare. With what I see so far, it seems to work. The top of the skim is turning brown so I know the proteins are going up. I don't think the two firefish are creating enough waste to start seeing a heavy brown color in the drained water. Regardless I am very satisfied with the product. I do have a recommendation though, (1) make sure to get an air pump that is rated for a tank of a 20 gallon. I originally had one for a 10 gallon and it was simply not enough. I had the valve wide open and the bubbles barely made it half way up. (2) For the first week and a half, keep a close eye on the skimmer. I adjusted the valve one night just a bit only to find the drain container overfilled the next morning. Luckily it wasn't to bad of a mess. (3) If you can, find a 90 degree elbow for the drain outlet to connect the pipe to. Currently with the pipe you get, its very stiff and the pipe sticks out a bit. That's probably my next thing to do for the tank. TL:DR - Pico Skim 2.0, Do it! As for the picture of the rear chamber, I will post one for you tomorrow! Awesome build man! I dig the tallness of the stand, definitely following along as I get my Fusion 10 going! Thank you! I wanted a tall stand to make sure I didn't have to get down onto a knee to look at the tank. I'm pretty short (5'7") and the tank sits at eye level, which is exactly what I wanted. My family is taller than me so it works perfectly for them too. I took pictures of the process to build the tank, and will post it sometime soon. Best of luck on your future build! Great build! I really like the tall stand in the corner under the stairs. And that green acan is a really unique and pretty color. Your pico was beautiful Following for sure. Thanks! I love that its next to the stairs, I always stop to take a peak for a couple seconds on the way down and up. Believe it or not, I got that acan for $8. I couldn't say no to that! Link to comment
SandBed
Great tank. The rock work really works in the tank and it will look fantastic once the corals grow out and fill the rock. Link to comment

edd29
Looks really great. Do the decora and magnifica get along? Actually they are not! I'm debating what to do now. It seems the decora is harassing the magnifica. Today for the first time the magnifica fought back and has been out all day. First time in a while. So hopefully things will get better. As requested. Hope it helps! Link to comment
Dryland
Nice! I like your scape and the overall tank/stand looks very clean. Following. Is that frag growing brown jelly? Link to comment
edd29
Nice! I like your scape and the overall tank/stand looks very clean. Following. Is that frag growing brown jelly? I believe it was, I scrubbed it off after I took the pictures. I got it from a friend since he was planning to throw it away. I saw it when it was healthy, and trust me, its worth recovering. I think it's called WWC Gold Rush. Link to comment

edd29
Wow, those are awesome cell phone shots! They look better than most people's DSLR shots What kind of phone is it? Did you do any post processing? Thank you! Its a Galaxy S4. I set the phone to ISO100 and try not to move haha. My friend gave me a filter (orange-clear piece of plastic) that takes out the blue, which helps quite a bit. Just hold it right on top of the lense. Post processing I change the brightness and contrast on Flickr. I love this phone when I want to take closeups of the corals. My SLR doesn't have the right Lense for it. Link to comment
edd29
Well, Im pretty bummed. I just found out I have digitate hydroids. So I'm going to spend the day trying to scrub the rocks. Hopefully I can make them disappear a bit quicker. edd29
Hello everyone! A lot has been going over the past month of March and haven't got a chance to update. I recently got married, moved to my wife's house, and left my tank behind. The tank is under my man of honor's supervision. He has freedom to frag all corals as he wishes as long as he leaves some coral to grow haha. Of course I will be buying and sending him replacements for salt, filtration, equipment, etc. as needed. I hope to get pictures from my friend or family over the months to update this thread. If not I will have my friend post for me. The plan is to let nature takes its place and let the tank mature exactly the way I left it. I recently got to visit my family and friends before I leave for pilot training in the Air Force for a year and a half. I decided to take some quick pictures. Throughout the month that I was away, some corals have grown more than expected. Especially the SPS corals. The Pink Milli has encrusted faster than I expected. The Pink Digi has encrusted and grown quite a bit. The one I am most surprised with is the Green Monti in the back wall. It was browned out but mostly got it for the GSP that was growing over it. It has regained its color and started to encrust the back wall. Some are recuperating since there was a two week period that the tank did not get a water change. Luckily only the chalices had a problem with that but have been healing very quickly. Any way here are the pictures. Sorry for the quality of the pictures, I rushed Blondies grew another polyp Phone Pics. You can see how much the Pink Milli has grown with these. Edit: Forgot to mention that I also moved some corals around after they were Bayer dipped to help with my digitate hydroids problem. They are still around but after reading, it seems it is best to let them be and they will begin to disappear on their own. Link to comment
