PotatoChipMan
After some serious researching and planning. I decided to "build" an AIO for my 40 breeder. I was coming from the 29g biocube and enjoyed the chambered area immensely. So I had the idea to make an area in the 40 an AIO area. I think it worked out well. There were some issues I had to contend with, I overcame them and moved on. Mainly issues regarding the teeth at the overflow area. They broke off and I decided to file them down and place gutter-guard behind them. It works and looks decent. It is a dimly lit macro-algae planted mixed reef tank of sorts. The intention is the lighted side will be for photosynthetic things and the dark side will be for NPS creatures. Corals: Alveopora Green Centered Daisies Small Cluster of Pink Zoas Galaxea Inverts: Red Tree Sponge Pepperment Shrimps Emerald Crab Deresa Clam Plume Gorgonia (in shipping) Fish (Currently in process of being shipped): 2) Greenblotched Parrotfish Pygmy Angel Saddled Blenny Macro-algae: Codium Halidmeda (rooted and achoring type) Shaving Brush Lighting: 1) Kessil A150 Ocean Blue Future Possible Additions: SPS, mainly Milleporas more Clams more Gorgonias another Kessil (maybe) more macro-algae This is it for now. I plan on getting more photos up. I recently reworked the "badlands" and will be getting a FTS soon. Anyways, thanks for looking! Link to comment

PotatoChipMan
Looks pretty cool. Have an overall tank shot? The left side rock work extends around the chambered area. Can't tell it in the picture, but it makes sort of an "L" shape. The right side is shelf rock mixed with a tonga branch and part of the sponge behind it. Two nano korallias provide flow to those areas so there isn't any deadspots behind the rock. Link to comment

PotatoChipMan
I really like the natural look of it! Thanks very much. I often see tanks that are brigther than the sun...a little light goes along way. Also I love my plants. Link to comment

PotatoChipMan
Today I received my animals from KP Aquatics. Philipp was pretty awesome to talk to, he gave me a call yesterday in regards to my order. We, unfortunately, had phone issues. But based on my call and a few emails today, top notch guy. They didn't have a saddled blenny and was replaced with another type of blenny. I was also given an extra gorgonia. Shipping was well done. Sadly, the weather took a change and it was cold. Not much can be done while things have already shipped except hope. There was a heat pack, but ya know how those things go.One of the parrotfish was really stressed. I was disheartened and from my experience, super stressed fish usually don't make it. I slowly drip acclimated and gave him a few hours. He's now swimming around in the "badlands" with his mate. I'm pretty excited to see that he turned around. Definitely purchasing from them again in the future. Link to comment
