Blues and Whites are wired separately. You could cap the ends and hang this unit, screw it into a canopy or do what i did and connect the ends to some pvc 90s and then make an arch going above the tank.

 

works great. Recently turned my 33L frag system into a sump for two 40 breeders and didnt want to take this light apart.

I can hit the tube with a fresh coat of paint if you want it solid black. I never got around to painting it (used a piece of pvc that i already painted for something else )
