Beautiful! love to see it filled! Do you plan to make the rock stick out of the water a bit? I've seen that done in some other aquariums and it's looked very good.

I agree it's a cool effect.

The top of the rock should just clip the waterline, so that little waves lap at the rock.

(and so that with the LEDs, the rock should shimmer)

Woohoo! When does water and hardware end up in?

Hopefully in the next few weeks (I know, it's painful but I think i'll manange)

Very nice, but if you haven't bought the light yet, don't.

Oh? Suggestions instead?

Mhmm i'd love a beautiful kit like either of these

that being said however… the EVO is $50/1700 lum. And i just can't beat the price

I had a fixture like that one when my panorama strips broke on my bc14. Everything died except my kenya tree and two zoa colonies which browned out.

Not saying don't get it.. Saying it might be worthwhile to get a very nice light fixture so you aren't frustrated. If you do get that EVO one I'll be interested to see how it works for ye!

Lumen? That's how bright it is. It uses shitty 10K whites with RB's, I'd do a DIY fixture.

Generic 10k K's and 460 nm's.

Again, I'd love to build/buy.

For the time and money though it's a decent enough punch for this paycheck.

If i get set up (before stocking) and the light just isnt enough i'll throw on an old 36W PC

it will just screw into the lamp that he has over the tank now anyways :D

I wish. The lamp over the tank actually has a shockmount for a microphone, to which (for the purposes of photo) i have taped a speedlight
