Hi paco1l1d

Lightning is from ATI. 4x 24Watt T5. 2 bulbs special blue ( daylight mixed with blue ) / 1 bulb blue / 1 bulb daylight

Also 2 cooling fans are installed in the lamp for the optimal operating temperature.

Hi BiffMalibu.

Do you have more Live rock (LR) in the refugium or just that ? How much do you have ?

Hi Joao there are 10kg ( ca. 22lbs ) live rock ( stones and dead corals ) in. Also a 1,5kg ( 3,3lbs ) weight reef ceramic.

That prefilter with the sponge doesn´t increase your nitrates ? I think those sponges are a "nitrate factory" since they create huge colonies of aerobic bacteria that convert nitrites into nitrates but then the LR and sand may not have enough anaerobic bateria to elimitate those nitrates (denitrificate -?- don´t know if the word exists...lol)

But perhaps you´re using the prefilter to protect the anemonae.

The prefilter is used because the tank works complete without a additional filter. It helps to eliminate left over food or other impurities.

Nitrate / nitrite is at zero ( of course it is important that the the sponge will be regular cleaned ). But since the start I had never problems with nitrate or nitrite value.

Nice aquascape Joao! Think it would also runs if I would do it your way without any filtration. But think a good working and clean prefilter will be a good help against contaminations.
