Maritza The Vase Reef

Peace To All,

I am Maritza, The Vase Reef. In a few weeks, I will be 2 years old. There are 29 different types of Corals in this little space of water, ranging from SPS, LPS, and others. I originally started as an experiment to prove and disprove certain things in the Reef Keeping circle and Science.

Today, Maritza is part of our family.

Some people keep dead flowers in their Vases.

We keep Live Corals and Inverts in Ours.

Blessings To All.

Haters !!!!!!! How is that possible What is wrong with people

Peace To All,

Thanks for your comments. Yes. Unfortunately, I've had negative messages sent to me and posted on youtube about Maritza. But it's ok. I don't mind. It's part of the fuel that I use to actually continue in our success with Vase Reef Keeping.

Hope this helps.

Blessings To All..

Peace To All,

Thanks for your comment. No. I'm not using any heating devices for this Vase. I do have a small heater but never used it because the Temp. in my home is always warm, even in the coldest of Winter days.

The Vase never drops below 76 and that's rare. Do I recommend a heater, YES!! Get one and have it available, just in case you should need it. Hope this helps.

Blessings To All.

Nothing short of miraculous and magical. I would even say inspirational. I watched the vid three times!

Spec it(with heating pad, pump, pre-drills, etc..), patent it and go to production. I'd pay $400-500 in a nano-second.

I am a novice so this question may seem simplistic;

How do you proceed with a 100 %percent water change without damaging corals/inverts?

Thanks for sharing something so special-

Max

Peace To All,

Thanks for having a look and your comments. We really appreciate this. As per the water changes, We use 2 types of hoses. One is a Rigid R.O. unit type hose, and that's used for removing detritus and other that settles on the corals from their mucus, and waste product. The 2nd hose is 1/4" hose, used for draining the Vase quickly, after blowing with a Turkey Baster, detritus off the Live Rocks and Corals. This hose drains the Vase quickly, removing most of the detritus and free floating matters. Hope this helps.

Any other question(s), please post or message Me.

Blessings To All.

Peace To All. Thanks for your questions and comments. We really appreciate this. As per the Crystal Cleared Water; Water Changes weekly, along with the Feedings and Maintenance. Fish? Of course I wouldn't think of putting a fish in that space. Some people have kept Clown Goby but they either disappeared or waste away? So No Fish. Shrimps? I had tried one time but it was a pain with the Shrimps stealing the food and constantly on the Corals, irritating them, and rightfully so. It's small and now, it's packed. Critters, they're in there but crabs? Only a small Blue Leg Hermit. I'm interested in the Corals. I have other tanks with Fish, Shrimps, etc.

As per cleaning the glass, I have my own DIY Algae Scrubber and I also use the Nano Mag and Betta Mag by Two Little Fishies.

The Reef Vase is about the Simplicity of Reef Keeping. I have a 12w ABI LED bulb, but you can add other, "more expensive" lights. I am just showing that even with very little Products and Equipment, you too can have a Vase Reef.

Hope to see you here with your Vase Reef Setup Soon!

Blessings To All.

Peace To All,

Here's a RARE event that occurred in our Vase Reef.

Cat's Paw spawning on Jan. 2014 - It was after the lights went out and I rushed to turn them back on to take this video.

Absolutely Incredible, and so glad to have been part of that phenomenon, in such a tiny space..

Blessings To All..

This is inspiring. Thank you for sharing and not getting caught up in spending a fortune on unnecessary equipment!
