MajorReefer Posted June 2, 2013 I have a 110 gal reef tank in the living room. It has been marinating (cycling) for the last few months. I have another 4 weeks before I can start adding fish\coral so I decided to buy this guy and hold him in quarantine until the tank (and the fish) is ready. Quote Link to comment
andre Posted June 2, 2013 Wow must be nice. The harlequin should be fine with corals, but snails and hermits are gonna be food. Youre gonna have to get other aggressive fish as tankmates as well. Quote Link to comment
MajorReefer Posted June 2, 2013 Thanks again! I have a cleaner shrimp and a serpent star in there right now, along with a ton of sand snails and some hermits. They don't actually eat snails and hermits because of their tough protective shell, but the shrimp will be toast if he isn't removed in advance. However, If he ends up eating the snails, I won't mind too much . Harlequin tusk fish (wrasse family) have a very pleasant temperament. They are very active, but so are tangs. They show no aggression to other fish outside of competing for food. They can even be kept in numbers if the tank is big enough. That said, I'll be posting pics of the 110 shortly... andre Posted June 2, 2013 Those blue teeth it has are for cracking shells of inverts. Just use caution. I wish i could house one of these fish. Really colorful and should really stand out in your tank Quote Link to comment
