Auto Top Off / Kalkwasser set up correctly?

I have an auto top off system and I mix kalkwasser in a 5 gallon water juggy.

Auto top off float valve is highlighted GREEN.

Water line is highlight BLUE, and parts that go out of view behind tank stand is dotted BLUE.

I put in a filter I highlighted RED. My fellow reefer buddy suggested that filter I'm using is for air, not water. And that I'm probably loosing some of kalkwasser in it. Makes sense to me, but I wanted to ask the forum.

I put the filter inline thinking it would collect big particles of kalk preventing pH spikes as an added protection, but now think it may be counterproductive. What do you think?

your friend is right that is an air pre-filter and only slows down the flow and that could harm the pump in the long run. I would remove it and not worry about clumps of kalk in your sump. Run the line from the pump directly to the sump into the same chamber that your display drains into, this will mix the RO as much as possible before it makes it to the pump chamber.
