These sculpin were in a tidepool @ point dume, look at the aggregating anemone(native coldwater species) they are next to. They are about one inch long young.

...ok Dizzle, I won't argue...hahaha

What I should have said was,

"ya DHaut, those look like blenny's to me also.

I have spent a LOT of time in the water here off SoCal,

from the U.S. border up to Santa Barbara and I have never seen a sculpin that looks like that.

Which I guess doesn't really mean much.

I love to free dive in shallow reefs and look through tide pools,

that is where you can see some of the coolest stuff under the ocean.

Mike, that tide pool tank you are hookin' up,

is that going to be tropical or temperate?...either one would be sweet!

I had a small one about 14 years ago and with the help of a chiller,

I was able to gathering some animals off the coast here and it was righteous!

I'm doing tropical, Ive done the temperate thing, and it is rad for sure, but these days its like a super turbo felony if you get caught taking intertidal animals, not worth it to me, nor is the 430 dollar permit or the sweating tank!
