Sailfish Posted September 22, 2010 #2 would definitely be the easiest stand to build, and in my opinion perhaps the cleanest and best looking. But #1 would silence the noise from the HOB fuge wich will hang on the back wall, most of the sandbed you usually see would be hid by the list and the canopy would prevent light spill out in the room and hide the water line... It`s a hard decicion! :/ Would love more opinions Quote Link to comment
Pudding Posted September 22, 2010 Maybe if 1 was a different color. Being able to see the sandbed isnt terrible.. It can look pretty cool if you have like hills of sand. Number two has potential to look very sleek and modern, but one is more traditional. Anyways, I'll pick two. Quote Link to comment
Jacobnano Posted September 22, 2010 Number one, unless you drill everything on two. That style only looks good if there aren't any cords hanging around it. Quote Link to comment
yoshii Posted September 22, 2010 If it's a rimless tank, #2, the white looks nice, but black would be even better Quote Link to comment
Sailfish Posted September 23, 2010 Great that so many have voted! I think I`m going to paint the back glass black to hide the wiring. If anybody wants to see any of the stands in a different color, that can be easily fixed. I`m planning to run this tank sumpless. A HOB fuge on the back. I`m going to use a Vortech MP10 in the back, or on one of the sides. Quote Link to comment
Sailfish Posted September 23, 2010 There are two rims on top of the tank, so I don`t think you could call it rimless? The rim is made of 2mm glass, like the glass sides. This tank will also be skimmerless as I have written in my tank thread. The only wires going down along the back of the tank will be from the HOB fuge and the Vortech. Quote Link to comment
jae4571 Posted September 23, 2010 I agree with Jacobnano. Option two will only look good if you drill the tank. The sleek look that it offers would be non existent with a HOB fuge. If there is going to be a lot of equipent hanging off the back I would go with option 1. Quote Link to comment
