Definitely a polyclad flatworm. Have heard of them eating snails and such but I've had one for a while now - shows up now and again - that hasn't bothered anything. I think they're neat!

i found and trapped one in a piece of live rock. my snails have been going 'missing' for a while. anyone know if it smothers its victims with mucus

yeah it does hanser. i had a nasty 4.5"+ one i caught. the little devil was eating everything it seemed. (well, snails etc) caught it around a snail even.

Mine at my baby maxima clam. So sad.
