this is my new starry blenny. a very interesting and entertaining fish. he is my new help for my hair algae problem. my foxface passed of unknown causes, it was fine and eating and active and then it was kinda still one night and dead the next morning. not sure what happened. water tested fine, all other fish, inverts, corals are all doing well, he just died! i moved my little redcrown algae blenny to another tank, he was no help with the hair algae. i did some research and was recommended to try a starry or lawnmower blenny so i picked up this guy and i didnt think i would like him as much as i do now. he is very active and curious and one of few fish that is not camera shy. i was wondering, has anyone had success with a starry blenny taking care of hair algae?

thanks :) i thought so too. i also noticed that he changes colors depending on where he is perched on the rock work... sometimes he will be redish brown with white spots and short white stripes (like the picture) and i have seen him move spots in the tank and go completely brown, and then move again and go brown with small white spots. its a trip to watch. i have seen him at night go completely brown with his face white. they are neat fish, i would definitely reccomend one even if not for algae but just to observe.
