what kind of lighting do they require and about how much do these run?

I have 50/50 130w power compact on 14 hours a day. but the don't need light to be alive. just need to feed them everyday. I feed them during the day from the beginning. so now they will open all day. especially when they smell the food while I feed my fish first.
