el fabuloso Posted August 20, 2009 Thanks! I still can't believe the amount of growth I've been getting. I have SPS growing out of the water! Three letters: LED =) Quote Link to comment
jokercykoe Posted August 21, 2009 O_O holy... cow... Greatest pico I have ever laid eyes on. Quote Link to comment
sjaded Posted August 21, 2009 Thanks for the desktop background. Your tank is awesome. Quote Link to comment
shawnjmccrea Posted August 21, 2009 That is insanely amazing...wish I could do that.. Cannot believe the growth you have got and yet it still looks like a full size tank packed with corals.... JELOUS!!! Quote Link to comment
StevieT Posted August 21, 2009 pretty small IMO. You should get a larger tank one of these days like maybe a RSM you know like actually have water in your aquarium. Quote Link to comment
el fabuloso Posted August 21, 2009 Ha ha good one Steve. I do have a RSM remember? Now if I can only get it stable like my pico. Whoever said bigger tanks are easier was totally lying. =P Quote Link to comment
ocean_of_mirth Posted August 21, 2009 Wow!!!! do you have a thread where you discuss the setup of this thing? How do you keep it so stable? Quote Link to comment
StevieT Posted August 21, 2009 Oh I've see your RSM, must be weird to store water for the thing. As always nice work I am looking forward to seeing the new one mature. ocean_of_whatever see here http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=136990&st=0&start=0 Quote Link to comment
burtonboy Posted August 21, 2009 That's looking really nice! Are you adding any kind of supplements or some kind or liquid food? Quote Link to comment
n0rk Posted August 21, 2009 This tank just lured my friend into the hobby. Pretty sweet, right? Loving what the LEDs have done, that growth is freaking explosive! Quote Link to comment
el fabuloso Posted August 21, 2009 The RSM is too much for me. I can't keep up with it. And I"m having a hard time running it during the summer. I think I need a chiller or something. n0rk, I'm glad I got your friend lured into the hobby. The more the merrier. =) Quote Link to comment
20reef Posted August 23, 2009 WOW! thats awesome! what kind of metal halide is that? Quote Link to comment
el fabuloso Posted August 23, 2009 Not metal halide, LED which is perfect for any pico setup with comparable PAR as metal halide but without the heat. Someone asked earlier about dosing and supplements. I dose with a two-part solution twice a day to maintain alk and calcium levels (with all that SPS and LPS in a three gallon tank it gets depleted pretty quickly) and I feed the tank once a week supplemented with Seachem Reef Plus. I do a 20% water change once a week with Oceanic Natural Sea Salt Mix. Quote Link to comment
Getbarreled Posted August 25, 2009 Absolutely fantastic! Best thing I have seen in this size category, hands down!! Do you have a list and estimated cost for the equipment on this. I would love to build something like this! Quote Link to comment
Kelseymichelle Posted January 6, 2010 Please please please explain to me how and what kind of LED you used??? I'm working on gettting a new light for my 2.5g pico and before I drop like $130 into evilc's par38 tell me what you did, b/c it really looks amazing! Quote Link to comment
el fabuloso Posted January 20, 2010 You'll have to ask evilc, he made it for me! =) Quote Link to comment
