tinyreef Posted October 7, 2008 well, not really. i don't really try to keep the algae down at all. there's a fair amount in there but that's mostly transplanted from the display tank (on the rock already). there's not much bioactivity (yet) so there's really not much nutrients to deal with. i welcome the phytoplankton though. it's one of the keys i'm counting on and not something i'm trying to fight (i usually never do actually). i do lazyass reefing. slime algae otoh IS something i don't like and try to address. but that was mostly due to temp issues a couple of weeks ago.
