dflash Posted July 25, 2008 May be asterina starfish. Some say they eat corals like mushrooms and zoanthids. Quote Link to comment
Diatome Posted July 25, 2008 Looks almost too symmetrical to be an actual asternia. Even if it is, I think they get a bad rap anyway. Quote Link to comment
kennyboy019 Posted July 25, 2008 Yea, Ive got one of those. My 10 gallon has been up for 2 years now, and I just found him last week. He's larger then yours, a little bigger then a quarter. Quote Link to comment
warhol1 Posted August 8, 2008 Just bought a mushroom colony and it had like 4-5 of these hitchhiking on it. I removed all of them bastards when I saw one of them trying to eat my zoas. Quote Link to comment

Atela Posted March 27, 2013 I thought they were supposed to be fine, little algae grazers, so I let them proliferate as they normally do. I had been watching my zoa colonies diminish, but never saw anything questionable on them. Recently, I caught some asterinas in a few of the colonies, so I eradicated as many as I could find. Probably somewhere near 50 had been removed. Geesh, at 29.99 X 50, I could have a couple of bills paid! Unfortunately, bad karma would have come back at me. Mine looked exactly like this one.
