angelacbishop Posted February 11, 2008 Looks like some kind of Nudibranch I believe. If you poke at it does it try to get away? I got something like that on a mushroom rock and managed to remove it with tweezers though it shredded into a few pieces in the process. Quote Link to comment
TheUnfocusedOne Posted February 11, 2008 what r u talking about exactly, there something on there that looks like it could be a larger sponge Quote Link to comment
Nathan06 Posted February 11, 2008 Yes it moves...actually it disappeared as soon as I placed that rock in the light...into a crevice. It actually had to fold itself up into the crevice. That brown sponge is the creature I'm talking about that has now disappeared. Hmm...nudibranch...well the only difference is this had no appendages or flowering, rough spots, rather completely smooth. It kind of looks like this slug that imitates a nudi...but instead it is brown with tan spots. http://www.julianrocks.net/flatworms/PseudocerosImitatus.htm Quote Link to comment
Nathan06 Posted February 12, 2008 great suggestion! found the thing here! http://www.wetwebmedia.com/tridacdisfaqs.htm it does indeed prey on mollusks...Tridacnid clams and actually resembles the mantle of a T. squamosa....gotta get this thing out...any suggestions? high salt bath?
