yardboy Posted January 16, 2008 Definitely A if it's made of glass. Run the risk of busting the bottom glass if it's set on unlevel surface. If made of acrylic it doesn't matter which you use. Quote Link to comment
121a Posted January 16, 2008 no 'b' if it is glass. the bottom should be the absolute bottom. all the glas has to go on top of it. That is how i assymbled my tank. It is leaking but that is expected till i seal it correctly. Quote Link to comment
thecowkid Posted January 16, 2008 If your going glass definately A! The weight of the tank is suppose to be supported by the sides of the tank. The bottom should be offset from the bottom of the side pieces by .25". This will reduce the chance of any level differences causing a crack. Acrylic would work either way. Quote Link to comment
Metzzen1 Posted January 16, 2008 I also vote A. as the cowkid said, the bottom pain of glass should be at least 1/4 inch off the surface and the sides of the tank should support the weight. acrylic, either way is fine because the 2 piece essentially come one when properly bonded. 121a Posted January 16, 2008 i don't get it. either way is essentially the same no? Could you elaborate on the .25" offset thing. I built my tank the B way so now if i did it wrong i have to switch it back to A. Quote Link to comment
