pico-man Posted October 28, 2007 Are you using the stock filter? I've found that I had to upgrade (I got a Cascade 80) and it's done a lot for the health of the tank. Two problems I deal with are excessive evaporation (I'm trying to find a good cover) and film that covers the water surface from lack of water flow (I had a mini powerjet but it stopped working). Yours looks great though, I like that branching live rock. Quote Link to comment
Smurf Posted December 10, 2007 Don't know if you were aquascaping. But did you add the rocks and then the sand? Quote Link to comment
rmaz1441 Posted December 11, 2007 thanks for the comments guys... pico-man... yes that picture is with the stock filter... 3weeks ago i upgraded to the rapids mini canister filter... the water movement and water quality have been fantastic since then... this is the link to the canister filter i bought... its really small and it fits great right behind the tank... http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3579+16742&pcatid=16742 smurf... that was my 1st attempt at aquascaping... i added the sand 1st then the rocks because of the way i wanted the sand in my tank... the depth of the sand is about 1-1/2" deep in the back and slopes down to a 1/2" along the front glass... that way the front glass has a lot more viewing space but i still have enough substrate in the tank... im gonna be adding a couple pics soon of the stars of my tank... my 2 sexy shrimp! so look our for those... take care guys Quote Link to comment
