if i where you, i'd paint the inside of the hood white to reflect some more light on your tank

Thats insane and I like it! Still have the "built in" heating element I assume.

nope i took out the heating element. didn't want to boil the tank.

i ended up putting aluminum foil in the hood as a reflector. lol painting it sounds easier and better though. i was thinking of turning it into a sump. it actually wouldn't be that hard, i'm just kinda lazy to do it. it's on my list of things to do.
