I'm not much on tests. I don't test for calcium or alk. I use Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Saltwater Master Kit. Not sure it is accurate. I have tested four times this year (6/10, 6/17, 7/05/ and 12/23). Every time, I have gotten the same results. Ammonia .25, PH 7.8-8.0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 0-5. It's one of those hold it up in bright light to read kits, lol. I believe everything is right on, as my small selection of corals is thriving. I do use purple up biweekly, kent iodine weekly, reef carbonate biweekly, and a teaspoon of kalk in my 5g ato jug. Coralline has really taken off since I started using the purple up. 175w SE MH (4" from water line), 33g Oceanic Cube, AC 110 fuge with cheato, and Remora skimmer. Live rock I have had for several years. Oh, and SG is 1.023 (with hydrometer) :)

Mine used to be nice and white like that now it's all brown colored except the purple tips. How long have you had that? Any tips for keeping it white?

each specimen is different. yours is just as healthy but is most likelythe haitian reef anemone Condylactis sp. and cliff's is the regular condy anemone Condylactis gigantea. so in this case, both of your seemingly similar anemones are actually different species and both would also be healthy.

I bought mine as a Haitian. Not sure which it is. I have had it since September. It has grown a few new tentacles but not really grown much larger. I feed it silversides, frozen plankton, and shrimp pellets. Pellets most often. I actually thought it was bleached and would brown up some, but it hasn't.
