Virgis Posted March 28, 2006 Is 20L mean 20 Liters? Could you tell more about your reef? Quote Link to comment
SlipperyDick Posted March 28, 2006 Yeah it is a 20 gal long. Sorry about the confusion. I haven't been getting enough metric in my diet. It's pretty hard to come by in the US. The tank itself is nearly ten years old and is an upgrade from my eclipse 6 (6 gal bowfront). I tore that tank down and just moved everthing over to this one. Specs: - 20 gallon long tank -130 watts of 50/50 power compact lighting (coralife) -Aquaclear 300 HOB filter [with prefilter sponge (cleaned once per monthish), also the orig. filter sponge in first chamber and live rock with algae (cheato+2caulerpas), pods, mysis ...] -Three section undergravel filter plate [the one on the left has active flow through using a power sweep 214, the right and middle have passive flowthrough, caused by the pressure difference between the front and back of the tank, with open uplift tubes] -Gravel is crushed coral from my 55gal setup and livesand from the 6gal and 5gal and is roughly three inches thick. The left side is almost all crushed coral going to almost all sand on the right. -Live rock is just about all from the two old systems (the 55 and six gals.) -Circulation pump(Rio 180) with upside-down pre-filter sponge. It keeps the surface from getting too schmutzy. This tank has been super stable and low maintenance, has eight fish and happy inverts. I almost never directly feed anything in here(mostly phyto and various dosey stuff. Cyclopeeze about once a month or less now. Oh and water changes every two months or when I remember. I'll post more info later, but I hope this is helpful. -Reefer madness is not just a musical anymore. Quote Link to comment
