I don't wear gloves, although once I move and put everything in my 29 gallon I probably won't be sticking my hands much in there.

Gloves are a waste of money and resources, IMO safety glasses are more important when fragging or smashing rock.

Also, if your worried about palytoxin, don't #### around with your zoas.

If I'm clearing algae - no, placing a coral somewhere new in my tank - no, but if I am handling any of the rocks for any reason - YES I am definitely wearing gloves because in the rocks live bristle worms and I don't want to get stung!
