MarkFernandez2103
Hello! I have a 45 gallon 36in x 24 in x 12 in I was wondering where the best place to place my Powerheads I have two one that is 700 gph and the other at 500 gph For corals in the future it's mostly going to be softies and some LPS Cheers, Mark Link to comment
seabass
It is common to place one on each side panel (facing each other). You can play with placement and direction to get the flow you desire. To observe the flow, you can tie a piece of string to the end of a fish net handle and move the handle around (in the tank) to see how the string responds. Link to comment
Clown79
I always place mine on the side panels as Seabass suggested. The direction in which they go will ultimately be due to rock placement, coral placement, and dead zones. Link to comment
ReefSafeSolutions
I always place mine on the side panels as Seabass suggested. The direction in which they go will ultimately be due to rock placement, coral placement, and dead zones. I HATE dead zones. I have a dead zone behind my rocks and can't get flow back there. So frustrating. Link to comment
Clown79
I had 2 powerheads in my tank and i directed one towards the back wall facing upwards. This helped. Link to comment
