picoreef78
So far my Cadlights PLS 100 has been performing well. Almost no algae growing, light dusting of the glass requiring scrapping every 2-3 days. NO3 and PO4 zeros every time tested (now one a month at best. Fall outs have been when the biopellet reactor was unplugged for two weeks without me realizing it. Why mess up a good thing? I have been looking at the Vertex Omega 130, Nyos Quantum (expensive), SWC and Bubble Magnus Curve 5. Tank is a Cacdlights 50 gallon (48 gallons) Artisan II cube. Anyone with experience on these skimmers or just leave as is and stop messing around. Link to comment
lkoechle
I love my vertex. It is very finicky to dial it in but once it is, ihave nice gross crap to dump every 3 days or so. I have my 130 on an 85 display and 40 sump Link to comment
picoreef78
The Cacdlights was also finicky. I am dumping avery 2 days or so but I feel like a lot of crud is in the foam opening end not in the collection cup, the main reason I was thinking about changing. Thanks for you input, I saw the videos and it looks like nice black crude is skimmed out. Link to comment
picoreef78
So looks like Vertex Omega seems to be the one to get, anyone else with experience or thoughts? Link to comment
Nstocks
Deltec SC1351 if you can get it over there. Insanely fast removal of junk, just a few hours. I have bubble magus and it produced nothing, then broke. Also had the Nyos 120 and it too didn't produce much in my system, at least compared to the Deltec Link to comment
picoreef78
Thanks for the info. Will look into the deltec. Shame the Nyos 120 didn't work, one expensive piece of acrylic. Thanks for the info will look. Link to comment

HarryPotter
NYOS has grabbed a lot of my attention lately. Cuz its sexy or because you've seen it skim? Link to comment
12_egg_Omelette
honestly because it's a sexy design followed by it's effectiveness. Link to comment
Steensj2004
All of the above, my skimmed immediately, I empty my cup every other day because of the smell Link to comment
wobar
I have a Vertex Omega. It is a little difficult to dial in, but overall I am happy with it. I did have an impeller break, but customer support was very easy to deal with and sent me out a new one right away. Also, I need to have mine in shallower water than the instructions recommend. If I put it at the recommended depth, it constantly overflows even if wide open. Link to comment
Neebles
I have the BM curve 7 and love it. No problems, easy to dial in and gives me nice dark skimmate. Link to comment
picoreef78
I just bought the Nyos Quantum, fit better into the sump and skims really well, I have still trying to tune it. Seems to overflow easily song going to raise it up 1/2 inch, I have it at 8 inches. Link to comment
picoreef78
Anyone else with Nyos quantum experience? I took to the biopellet rector and starting dosing NOPOX again, not enough room. Seems time doing well but still working on tuning the skimmer. Most likely due to my crappy tuning skills. Link to comment
