clintos
Infected recordia yuma shrooms: You can tell by the swelling around its mouth and the yellow part is smeared http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/ACIDCLOSEUP.jpg.html'> Healthy mouth: http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/pinkyumanoswelling.jpg.html'> Healthy shroom: http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/PINKYUMAHIGHPASSSHARPENEDGREAT.jpg.html'> I sliced him in half and chiseled the rock if nedded, I also blew out his rotten guts gently with a turkey baster. Here are them sliced and healing, they both made it, and now I don't need to worry about the infection spreading to my healthy shrooms. http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/aussi8.jpg.html'> http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/aussiforum6.jpg.html'> http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/IMG_0863_1-1.jpg.html'> http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/aussiforum5.jpg.html'> http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/IMG_0841.jpg.html'> http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/IMG_0966.jpg.html'> Here's a pic that I know nothing about it seems to be spiting out polyps when I was watching him through the camera: http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/IMG_0942.jpg.html'> http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/IMG_0845.jpg.html'> http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/96hrs.jpg.html'> Link to comment
patback
what? where did you get information that backs up an infection? is this a question or a statement? Link to comment
Nano sapiens
Nice yuma! Could just be expulsion of some waste. If it were a true bacterial infection I'd expect to see the Yuma retracted and a lot more nasty stuff going on. Is it wild, or is it a cultivated specimen? If wild, how long have you had it? Red_Blenny
Interesting... but I'd like to see some info that it's an infection. Even more important however, how do you cure/stop the infection? Stopping a yuma from melting is even more of a challenge than preventing z&p from melting. Link to comment
clintos
Stomach acid is being expelled from the mouth causing the yellow to fade, It's stomach was swelled, making me think it was holding the acid in. imo the next step would of been this: florida not a yuma: I feel, that I caught it early. I even smelled him when I sliced him up and he stunk like rot even the way they move when you swing them through the water I could tell his spincter was rotten because he didn't move right, the acid eats away at the guts and spincter etc Link to comment
Red_Blenny
Do you do any dip, like lugol's, after you cut them up and blow out their rotted insides? Link to comment
patback
are they in close proximity to another coral or even down current? to the best of my knowledge, those mesenterial filaments just say that they are trying to kill off any encroaching corals.if this all happened after fragging, you probably just really, really pissed them off. Nano sapiens
^^ Slicing and dicing does have that effect Link to comment
clintos
The orange one was further progressed then the blue one was, I used a flat head screw driver to scrap away most of the rotten inside out after I sliced him with a razor. I also blew the insides gently with a turkey baster to see what stays and what blows away, to be on the safe side. Link to comment

To be on the safe side imo If you suspect an illness then slice him you relieve the infection, then you have no worries especially if it's healthy, you'll have 2 shrooms worse case scenerio. clintos
Even if your shroom is rotten like this: Just slice the 4 sides off around his stomach. So they end up like this: x4 growing a new stomach I don't even like to see the white grill of the throat showing when I purchase shrooms from now on. imo this is the earliest stage of an infection: http://s458.photobucket.com/user/clintos08/media/MUSHROOM/9584a73571abdbe4.jpg.html'> Do you do any dip, like lugol's, after you cut them up and blow out their rotted insides?
