Been beautiful the last 10 months I've lived here. It's rained only like 2-3 times, which I guess is technically terrible lol. Unless you mean cold and foggy, then yea that happens during the summer. hey
i still have a canon ae-1 program I used for multiple photography classes in college. I do enjoy some darkroom work although many times I was more frustrated than happy lol. I will never miss trying to burn in skys to look not blown out but not unnatural at the horizons. The fog rolls in early during the "summer" though. I'm trying to get a good fog picture, but it is always clear I try to stop at least once a week Link to comment

brad908
Took a work trip and turned it into a roadtrip back home. Started in Prineville, Oregon > Crater Lake > Crescent City > down the coast to Fort Bragg > cut across home to SF Canon ae-1 program : 2 rolls of kodak 400tx, 1 roll of ilford 3200, and one roll of ektar 100 pushed to 400 (accident, forgot to switch the iso after using the kodak 400tx) Contax t2 : 4 rolls of portra 400 Link to comment

I learned to shoot with one before i went digital, did all my own prints but only processed black and white. I have contemplated getting a film scanner and shooting only film again but it feels like a hassle now with all the stuff required for your own darkroom vs just uploading imgs into lightroom. Best part about the ae-1, have you checked out how cheeeeeaaaaap the lenses are? Link to comment
hey
it's funny when you can see a difference in a film image and a digital. Not saying either is better, but they both have different qualities. Kinda like how people say you can see a leica image with enough experience looking at them. I found a film conversion presets set for lightroom and it turned out to be pretty decent for black and white here. http://www.andreruiter.nl/kodak-film-presets-for-lightroom/ I will say film grain is 1000000x more appealing than digital noise though. I actually enjoy some grainy film. Link to comment
afyounie
Love these pictures. I found a Lecia AF-C1 at an estate sale. Got it for 50 bucks. I've taken some pics around the house with it and I'm excited to see how the images come out. I normally shoot with my Nikon D5200. I need to take a road trip like you did to just take some pics. I have a pretty standard process now for my digital pics, so haven't used the VSCO presets. With the film shots I just leave them, don't do any retouch in lightroom. Excited to see how the ilford delta 3200 b&w comes out Link to comment

hey
while kodak tri-x isn't exactly the most beautiful film to shoot bw with I developed a soft spot for it while learning lol. Used a few others but I got pretty consistent results with it using some chemistry that wasn't the best, but didn't smell toxic as all hell lol. Can't remember the name of it for the life of me but it smelled vanilla-y Link to comment
