kgoldy
Reefbuilders is holding an online bracket for best LED fixture of 2011 I know AI has a ton of fanboys... so I'm excited to see something like the Nanobox breaking ahead by a significant amount of votes. Today was the second round of voting. Link to comment
dling
Looks like anyone can vote . If thats correct I can vote never having any of those lights. Not a good way of saying which is truly best. Link to comment
Daveg99
A lot of those other lights I never even knew existed. Even though I havent ever had the nanobox nor the AI nano I have read enough reviews and seen enough information on them to make an educated decision on which I would rather buy. Link to comment
ry05coupe
If I were to vote, Nano Box would get it just because of the annoying AI fanboys. Not voting though. Link to comment
Deleted User 6
Dave deserves the vote imo. AI Nano might be a nice unit, but the small shop guys - the real pioneers - need all the help they can get out there. Plus, I own an Nano Box unit and I'd put it up there with the best of the best options anyways. Link to comment
JNA_DESIGN
I have a AI SOL and wish I would have gone with Dave. I do love my SOL but I think his level of customer service and also the time he takes to build quality is something you dont see to often anymore. Link to comment
gmod
But the nanobox seems more expensive and not the same features...Not sure why i would go with that.. Link to comment
Deleted User 6
Better LEDs, diffuser material, build quality, WAY better customer service and support, supporting a small company over a large company to invest in hobby innovation, etc. etc. Link to comment
JNA_DESIGN
Two words. Custom Built. Link to comment
gmod
Still even with all that does not make me want to spend more for his light that he doesnt want to give any info on at his websight...But hopefully he will surprise me..But iam not paying more fo his light than a NANO sorry.. Link to comment
JNA_DESIGN
Well personally I have seen people post his lights and he is completely obbsessed with LEDs and I see his passion, thats what makes me want to use him for any future tanks. I dont mind spending extra for anything as long as its worth it due to quality and craftmanship. AI nano is a great light fixture and has the cool touch sensitive thingy so to each their own. JNA_DESIGN
Rehype has them over his tank... And his tank is in the top 5 of all time for me personally. Just the level of dedication to detail he gives his tank is amazing. Link to comment

savageajc
Pics of my nanobox Fts with LEDs on.. retype your tank is amazing, but is the disco ball effect on your sand as intense in person? Link to comment
Rehype
Thanks savage its odd because the spotlighting effect appears readily in photos however in person it only happens if there is alot of surface agitation. The diffusing material seriously reduces the effect. Link to comment

I didnt even know they existed until now. Be patient, you will very soon! I just sent my BC29 hood to have Dave do a retro-fit for me! Thanks to fellow N-R members like DHaut and Rehype! Nothing wrong with AI, just didn't want to go topless plus I wanted to keep the integrated looks of the Bio-Cube. BTW, Rehypes' tank is a recent TOTM! I think that speaks enough by itself! SouthFlorida_Tron
Next time I have a extra $700-$900 lying around I will try one of Dave's lights or a Radion. Link to comment

amheck
Got mine for about what the Vega will cost..... So to get something controllable, do you need the light and the $250 controller upgrade? In my case, the 12" 24-LED fixture at $450 plus $250 for the controller? Link to comment
