tinyreef Posted September 26, 2003 Share Posted September 26, 2003 they can but you have to make the conditions optimal for them. think about attaching the little rock to a larger chunk. the availability of a more stable surface area to spread (rock vs. sand/loose substrate) will promote the polyps to spread out. otherwise they tend to grow in convoluted forms not conducive to catch light and spread out. make sure it's somewhat stabilized on the little rock it's on right now (i.e. a couple of weeks) before moving and glueing. then i'd glue/move it to a somewhat-flat piece or area of rock. decent flow (i.e. 2"~3"/sec), balanced lighting (definitely have some actinic imo), make sure ca/alk is good, and occasionally make sure any microalgae doesn't smother/overgrow it. it's a perfect coral choice ime; easy, pretty, widely available and cheap. um, hmm...funny, that happens to be my perfect girl choice qualifications too. : Link to comment
