rebubula
the shelf is from intermetro... each one is rated for 800 pounds. I love the look, and it was easy to build. http://metro.superiorshelving.com/pages/WeightCapChart.shtml Stay tuned tomorrow for live rock arrival and hopefully barry-cuda the ammonia detector. henry22
Have the exact same shelving system in my garage. Mine is a little longer, but looks exactly like yours, got it at Sams Club. Post more pics as your set it up. Link to comment
rebubula
Got my rock and some other stuff today. Check back later for some aquascaping shots... I put all 45 pounds in for now, but i'm going to take a rock out in 2-3 weeks and put it in my nanocube. That tank needs a couple more pounds of LR. Here are the other photos Link to comment
rebubula
Aquascaping shots... bummer i got such big pieces, but they are good quality. Take a look at the profile shots. Is this gonna leave enough room for some fish. Of course small ones, but I want to get a copperband butterfly down the line to eat aiptasia. Also, I have been reading Koden's thread about his mtank setup and I couldnt get a clear idea of the correct skimmer level... I've been fiddling with it for 2 days now and I'm not sure if i'm getting enough bubbling. I also don't want to flood my room. Link to comment
rebubula
this thing sure scratches easily. I use a squegee on my glass tank, and i figured it would be soft enough for an acrylic but i guess not. I've been using a sponge to wipe down the exterior, but how should i get it crystal clear? rebubula
can you use acrylic scratch remover inside the tank or is that toxic? Link to comment
rebubula
day 5: Ammonia- 0PPM Nitrite - 0PPM Nirtrate- 10 PPM I've been feeding the empty tank some frozen shrimp to try and start the cycle, but i have not seen any ammonia change. guess i'll just have to wait longer. Link to comment
jax
Often the live rock will jumpstart the Nitrogen cycle. Since you already have nitrates this is probably true for you Link to comment
rebubula
Time for a cleanup crew? I'm wondering, with all this algae growth if its time for some snails. I tested the water ammonia less than .25 ppm nitrite 0 nitrate 10 ppm any other solutions for all this algae. I don't want it to get out of hand Link to comment
Buehler
If that's hair algae, it's a pain to deal with. Sea hares should take care of it, however. I think I'm going to have to resort to one :-( Link to comment
rebubula
check out the new zoanthid and gsp in the nanocube. now i just need to figure out how to install a skimmer on a hooded ncdx any ideas Link to comment
zachxlutz
can you please top-off that tank? Link to comment
rebubula
is it bad to have the water level like that? The filter intake is rounded, so the higher the water level the less surface level junk you're filtering out. is it just aesthetic? Link to comment
andre
If your worried about surface skum get a surface skimmer for nano cubes. Your tank would look much better if the water level was higher. It's just more aesthetically pleasing. http://www.nanotuners.com/product_info.php...products_id=270 Link to comment
zachxlutz
Andre said what I was going to say, so now I don't have to say it. So, thanks andre. Link to comment

rebubula
discovered the hammer today and i used it as a tool to improve my aquascaping. The rubble i created helped me build a small fuge. aghhhhhh!!!! what happened to barry Link to comment
kinetic
if you're looking for a new skimmer, i'd highly recommend the tunze nano. it's completely silent, COMPLETELY, and it skims great!!! also draws very little power too. it fit in my 32g m-tank perfectly. Link to comment
