The 2 corals surfaces are similar except the monti does not grow outward but your Heliopora coerulea certainly does. Just my thoughts. Link to comment

He showed me some skeleton of it from a rock that came from the same place. The skeleton was definitely blue ridge, but I am not sold on this one yet...... Link to comment

lakshwadeep Posted February 17, 2010 Share Posted February 17, 2010 From the number of tentacles, it looks like an octocoral, which means it's not related to SPS. However, Heliopora coerulea sounds closer because it is one of the few octocorals that encrust like SPS. The only problem with that is H. coerulea is generally blue. Link to comment
