Newest FTS 02/21/2010

FTS02212010.jpg?t=1266812360

Pricing Totals

Lights - roughly 196.00 including tax

Livestock total 232.00

Striped Star frag - 10.00

Duncan Frag - 25.00

Purple Tipped Hammer - 20.00

Acan - 78.00

Purple Hornet Zoantid - 99.00

Well I suppose it's my turn to start my Pico thread. I decided to go with the ever popular Picotope and AC70. Although I may have a couple tricks up my sleeve still. :wizard: One of those tricks just happens to be my Officially Licensed PicoGuard, Juggy.

Picotope.jpg?t=1263627130

As you can see, he is already standing watch over it. Of course that could also be because it's taking up 1/3rd of his favorite place to lounge right now also... Juggy is a natural born killer though so hands off. At the young age of 4 months he was already deep into his ninja training of climbing friends legs and swatting them in the groin before making a hasty exit! :ninja:

Something else I noticed while taking pictures of the Picotope. It appears JBJ has changed their label on the front.

Be assured. I'm getting the razorblade and soap out this very minute for fear of the FLAME!! :scarry:

Well damn I was about tired of strumming my fingers :D

After strumming for this long I have to say you type pretty well for only having little nubs left. :P

The label looks sooo good!!! I really like JBJ's new look. They even recognize El Fab himself. That is some kind of status there. :D

Heatsink came in yesterday afternoon. Took a couple pics before putting some armstrong action into it.

As you can see it could use a little work. I'm going to finish up sanding it down today then drill my holes so that I can screw the LED's into place along with being able to mount a fan over the top of it and mount it too a fixture I plan on gutting and modding. Wish me luck!

:welcome: to the Pico Contest Carnifex!

have to tell everybody this: It is EXTREMELY important!!!

You HAVE to put a FTS on the FTS thread every other Sunday. The FTS thread will be made on January 25, 2010 when you are aloud to add rock, sand, water, and life.

If you do not follow the directions correctly on the FTS thread or you miss a FTS you will de DQ'd.

Pictures won't be a problem. Although I may end up going over budget as far as live stock is concerned. I'm a big spender! B)

I think I'm planning on doing 1g water changes every other day, but we'll see if I can hold too that once things get started.

It's probably going to be 1-2 months before I add anything to it. Just going to let the algae go bonkers till it starts to recede.

Well got the LED's bolted down. Just got some wiring to do and a power supply to show up in the mail soon and I'll be ready to kick start this baby for some sweet algae growing action! :D

10 XR-Es should give you a pretty awesome amount of light in this tank  what're you driving them at, 700mA or 1000mA?

The drivers are 1000ma and the LED's I bought are rated up too 1000ma, but I got myself a couple potentiometers so that I can dim them down a little bit for either differant colors or maybe turning it down just a little if I happen to have too much light.

Alright, a little lighting update. Been working on building the fixture for these babies all day long. Once I finish this fixture I'm going to either paint it or stain it. Haven't decided on that yet. Grower has been bugging me all week to hook up my power supply to it because he wants to see the LED's in action.
