Bleaching LR?

I have noticed that my LV has aquired patches of white on them. Is there such a thing as white coralline?

NH3, NO2, NO3 all 0s.

I checked my Alk today and it is a little low 5.4-6.4 range. My pH is constantly at 8.3-8.4. However, I am checking it at the same time everyday. I run chaeto in the fuge. The light is on 14 hours. Do you think this might be a pH issue. Should I move some chaeto in to the tank too?

..or it this completely unrelated to pH/Alk?

Looks like plain rock exposed from under all that algae. Purple coraline algae will start covering the rockwork gradually at some point.

When coralline algae dies it turns white.

Was it purple there before and recently turned white?

If there was no coralline there to begin with it must be what Aquanist said.

You may need to fix your alk, cal, and mag levels.

Sorry, it's a bad picture. Actually, there is no algae there. The photograph is making it look green. Any other thoughts? It's stark white.

There was no purple there before, perhaps it was a different kind?
