luv-the-rics Posted December 20, 2008 Share Posted December 20, 2008 I have an eclipse 6 that i drilled and plumbed for a 10 gallon sump. i took out the stock light and the stock filter. i utilized the stock hood but cut a hole for the light. i built the stand for it so it would fit the sump snugly underneath. tank specs: eclipse 6 display 10g sump quietone 1200 return (296 gph) 1/2 inch bulkhead split to two 1/4 inch flared nozzles coralife mini aqualight 18watt (planning on an upgrade) oceanic biocube protein skimmer (might upgrade) 50watt marineland stealth heater coralife electronic thermometer sump specs: overflow chamber skimmer chamber refugium bubble trap return chamber livestock: oscellaris clown bangaii cardinal (captive bred) yellow clown goby pj cardinal skunk cleaner shrimp 4 blue leg hermits 3 red leg hermits (in refugium) 4 nassarius snails 4 caribbean nerite snails (checkered nerite) 2 astrea snails random micro brittle star hitchhikers tons of feather duster hitchhikers 2 isolated asterina stars (until i decide if i want to keep them or not) 1 unknown baby snail (found 12/19) coral: several different varieties of rics neon yuma mini colony radioactive dragon eye zoos fire and ice zoos several other varieties of zoos rhodactis mushroom red and blue striped mushroom red mushroom pink hammer metallic octopus frogspawn daisy polyp colony a couple of the zoos fire and ice zoos a little hammer the octopus frogspawn rics yuma daisies bangaii and yellow clown fts tell me what you think. luv-the-rics Posted December 20, 2008 Author Share Posted December 20, 2008 i got a mini colony for 40 bucks at one lfs. the other day i went to a different lfs and they sell them for 80 dollars a head. they are the "ultra" kind. the one in the pic would be considered that by this lfs. crazy. i talked to them about what a steal i got and the guy was like "do they know what they sold you?" Nice tank start! I like the rock in the upper left. I would leave it and just get something that has some height like some clove polyps or xenia and fill the spot on the right. I have a similiar effect in my own tank. after sleepin on it, i agree. i think you should just get something sweet to fill in the area.... the aquascape changes appearance alot when you start adding stuff anyways. iknow mine did.
