Simple BC14 chamber 2 top media grate mod

So I keep the water level in my BC14 really high, I use the inner part of top grate thing on chamber 2 to put filter material on so my cheato can roll around in the bottom of C2.

 

Problem?

Every so often there would be to much water flowing and no air would get through causing a vacuum which in turn caused the water levels in chamber 2 and chamber 3 to lower a lot.

 

Solution?

Drilled a hole the size of the small end of a BIC pen cap in it and inserted a BIC pen cap, water never goes over the top of the cap and vacuum never forms.

 

 

Simple, stupid, works.
