Looselyhuman
Hey all, I'm re-establishing this tank after helping my uncle upgrade out of it, to a 29g... Quick stats: NC 12 Gallon DX NanoCustoms 3.24 72w lighting 3w LED Chaeto Fuge ICA chiller Sapphire NanoSkimmer Maxi Jet 900 with a Hydor Flo There are a few pieces of LR rubble, and one large, undead rock. It was a live rock that was left to air dry for about 6 weeks after I tore down my 100g. It's shape was too interesting for me to give it away. When I added the rock to this tank, about 3 weeks ago, there was a good cycle. However, bristleworms and other fauna had somehow clung to life inside the rock, and emerged. The sand was rinsed in seawater until it ran clean, and has been stirred almost daily. I am going to go for a very low nutrient, mid-light sps tank. Think lots of montipora... Fish will later include two pairs (if I can get them to cohabitate) of Stonogobiops, and perhaps some Eviota, gobies. Plus 2-4 Alpheus Pistol shrimp. Critters in the tank, right now: 6 Peppermint shrimp 20 Nerite spp 20 Cerith spp 2 Nassarius (Ilyanassa?) spp 1 Astrea sp ? Stomatella spp ? unidentified Limpets ? Asterina spp Pics follow, and I will do my best to keep up with a progression. --ian Link to comment

Looselyhuman
do you have a pic of the fuge light?? is it on the back or in the water?? Hi Nick. You can see it in the 5th pic of the first post. It is the two 6500K LEDs, mounted over the 2nd chamber. Here is the kit, at NanoCustoms: http://www.nanocustoms.com/product_info.ph...;products_id=70 --ian Link to comment
spanko
That is a really nice pc of rock, fits so well in the tank. I love the yellow assessors. So peaceful and beautiful. Link to comment
Looselyhuman
That is a really nice pc of rock, fits so well in the tank. I love the yellow assessors. So peaceful and beautiful. Thanks. I am glad I kept the rock, even though it may be slightly-less-than-alive... I wonder if that won't cause problems, later? I'm already having signs of a hair algae problem, but have been keeping it subdued with (very small amounts of) rowaphos. Another note: reports of a heat problem when using an MJ1200 in a NanoCube are *not* overrated. I upgraded over the weekend, and came home from work today to find the temperature was 83, even with the ICA chiller. I've downgraded to an MJ900 and it is a stable 79.5. Finally, I just won some frags from Duane (The Propagator) on eBay. I'll post some new pics when they arrive. --ian Link to comment
