flick
Hey guys! I found an AWESOME DEAL on a 24" coralife PC canopy. Used 7 weeks, and needs a new home! It was too much light in tank, caused a lot of algae So they are selling it for $120, im asking for $100 Its got 1 x 65w 10,000k and 1 x 65w 50/50 bulb... Both only 7 weeks used (for 8 hours a day roughly).... Heres link to the info off a site: http://www.hellolights.com/242xcoraqpch1.html Heres my tank thread: http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=108993 What do you think? Can i have torch coral, frogspawn, mushrooms, GPS, xenia, and a toadstool with this canopy in my tank?) Thanks a bunch guys! Flick Link to comment
akbuuur
You need at least 3 watts per gallon this is 2.8 if i were you id go for stronger lights... maybe 2 96 watt bulbs if u want to go with PC... Link to comment
flick
***round up*** and we'll say its got 3 lol I see what you mean. But for $100 in my town, i think its great! Nos hipping charges, and have found nothing cheaper! Plus its almost new, and is perfect for me! (Close to pick up, not much money, not too much light, not too little light )... Flick Link to comment
andrewkw
I wouldn't waste your time with PC, they are obsolete technology. I think T5 is best for you since its affordable and actually cheaper in the long run. The best part is it would be easily upgradeable. Start with 2 bulbs and end up with 4, 6 or 8 or more later if you want to go sps, clam ect. Considering how often you wants change it might be best to plan for the future. Of course if you can find an MH fixture cheap used then that would be great too. I suggest before you run out and buy something you think long and hard about what corals you want or could see yourself wanting in the not too distant future. Link to comment
