Current lighting options I am considering are: 36" 6-bulb PowerModule/SunPower 36" 8-bulb PowerModule/SunPower 36" 10-bulb PowerModule/SunPower 1 x AI Sol Blue LED module 2 x AI Sol Blue LED modules 1 x Boost LED mu 135 module 2 x Boost LED mu 135 module Pros? Cons? Cost is a factor, but I don't mind paying a premium to get a considerable increase in performance. I do mind paying a premium for a small gain in performance, or overkill. I don't need to have SPS throughout the entire tank, and am planning to have at least one end be fairly open for 4-5". Maybe just a few zoa islands. I really like the 10 bulb powermodule, but am concerned about (a) cost of energy ( too much light, © cost of bulbs. All the LED fixtures seem to be more geared at having depth penetration and not so much at spread, so I dont' see that I'd be able to get away with one fixture, and two is just sooo expensive. You will have more than enough light with either the 36x6 or 36x8 PowerModule Go with the 8 as you will have more bulb and color combo options. Link to comment
GiantBen Posted March 15, 2011 Author Share Posted March 15, 2011 Thanks AJ. I assume a SunPower is just as good as a PowerModule, minus the sleeker look? I've got a line on a used 10-bulb PowerModule and a used 6-bulb SunPower. I'll probably go with the 6-bulb SunPower, unless a used 8-bulb comes up before I have to decide.
