WANANO
Hi All, I have been surfing this great web site for many years, but this is my first post. Being in the hobby for 30 years I have seen a lot of changes and it's great to see how the hobby has advanced over the years. After many many reefs and FOWLR tanks, I have really down sized and been concentrating on nano systems for a while. The tank below is one of 2 nano tanks I have running at present (the other is a simple Red Sea Reefer Nano with a family of 25 clowns and BTA anemones). The better half looks after the clowns and I look after the SPS tank which is featured here. Anyway, some simple specs of the tank are as below: Display System: Strike up Date: 1/3/15 Display Tank: 90 x 30 x 24.5 cm high Display Lighting: Giesemann Matrix II 4 x 36W T5 ( 2 x ATI Coral Plus + 2 x ATI Blue Plus) + 1 X Tunze Blue LED Stand: Ikea Sump: Dimension 52 x 33 x 40 ( l w h) Support systems: System Water: Red Sea Salt (normal) mixed with a 5 stage RODI water Filtration: 2 x 200 Micron Filter Socks / 100ML of Phosgaurd and 100ML of Purigen run in a Tunze Comline filter. Display Water circulation: 2 x X Aqua In / Outs 1 x MP10 QD (reef Crest Mode 100%) Return Pumps: 2 x Tunze 1073.050 with controller 7097 (24V - Random Flow) Skimmer: Tunze 9004 Chiller: Artica Nano 1/15 HP (have a new ¼ HP chiller to plumb in and I may lower the tank temp by a deg or 2 Evaporation Top Up: Tunze osmolator with 5 stage RODI water Controller: NIL Chemical Support: GHL Doser 2.1 - (KH / CA / MG) Parameters: KH 7.0 DKH CA 400-410 PPM MG 1290-1310 PPM K+ 390PPM Salinity 1.026 Temp 25.7-26.3 deg cel (78-79) PO4 0.02PPM – 0.03PPM (Hanna ULR Phosphorus meter) NO3 2.5-5PPM (I dose Potasium Nitarte to keep my levels up). Too low and the corals start to loose color Next stage: Plans are to possibly add another MP10 QD, may go to an ATI Power module 6 bulb so I can run add 2 x pure actinic globes for more pop. May add ozone as well (very small amount). I was previously running zeovit but was not happy with the results. It brought the PO4 and NO3 to basically nil levels and I was always fighting pale colors. Anyway here are some pics of the tank this evening (Australia time) and many thanks for looking. RayWhisperer
Welcome to N-R. Nice system. One thing I am wondering. It looks like you have no rock. Is that the case? And if so, is that why you have no fish or inverts? Link to comment
WANANO
Hi Mate, There is Live rock in there, the corals are mounted to it, maybe a bit hard to see in the pictures. I have a few turbo snails and 1 x blood shrimp, I keep the bio load light (no intentions of placing fish into this tank again). Corals are fed daily with KZ CV. Cheers Link to comment
RayWhisperer
I saw a few pieces. The corals are pretty large, so I assumed they came already attached to some rock. Link to comment
WANANO
Most of the corals have been glued to the rock work. Over here (Australia) wild colonies are a lot more common than frags. Tank has a few frags but mainly wild colonies (mainly great barrier and a few Ningaloo reef) which is a days drive from here. Cheers Link to comment
