Pocketlama
I was originally told this was a Dottyback and then I thought Royal Gamma but there's no stripe through the eye. Now I think Brazilian Gamma. Is that right? (I call him Lucky because of the lines on his face that look like scars.) Link to comment
Clown79
Dottybacks have no line running through the face. Link to comment
RIP Sebastian
According to what I've read, it's a royal gramma. Brazilians are practically unheard of in the hobby. Link to comment
RayWhisperer
See the spot on the dorsal. It's a royal gramma. Probably a geographical variant due to no stripe through the eye. May be a juvenile, or sexual dimorphism thing, as well. Not really sure, since I hate all those fish. No spot would be a bicolor dottyback. Link to comment

jestep
How could you hate a gramma...? They're the perfect community reef fish IMO. I completely forget I even have them because they're so benign as far as aggression goes. Link to comment
RayWhisperer
They are all aggressive, IME. Everyone I've ever had was like an elongated damsel. Hate em all. Link to comment
Pocketlama
Well there you go. Thanks. It was the lack of the line that confused me. Royal gramma it is. See the spot on the dorsal.
