FTS November 1, 2016 - Two new frags, and two stylos getting cleaned up.FTS October 27, 2016Rocks Cured and Placed into tank late July 2016.This tank is my second tank. With my 10 gallon springing a leak, I was forced to move all my livestock into a 10 gallon half moon tank. That tank is going strong and has served its purpose. Ultimately, the plan is to consolidate down to just the new IM20, but I will not be transferring the majority of my beginner livestock to the IM20.Wet on 7/29/2016.Tank Specs Display: Innovative Marine Fusion 20 Gallon Lighting: EcoTech Marine Radion XR30 Gen 2 - G3 Pro Puck Upgrade Heater: Cobalt Aquatics Neotherm 75w Heater Circulation: Stock 11W 110v/60Hz 211 GPH Return Pump, MP10wES, SpinStreams Skimmer: Mame Nano Glass Skimmer Filtration: Innovative Marine AUQA Gadget CustomCaddy x2, IM Minimax Desktop Reactor (planned) Filter Media: Filter Floss, Carbon, GFO or PhosGuard Top Off: AutoAqua Smart ATO Micro Dosing: Manual (C-Balance) Controller: ReefLink Rock and Substrate: BRS Fiji Dry Live Rock (10lbs), CaribSea Aragonite (10lbs) LivestockCorals Zoas/Palys (Eagle Eyes, Cheeseheads, SafeCracker, Utter Chaos, Purple Heart, Red People Eaters) Purple Green and Red Green Blastomussa wellsi GSP Clove Polyps (Ultra Pink/Green, Green/Pink) Green/Purple Splatter and Purple Tipped Hammer Green Psammocora Assorted Stylophora (Purple, Pink, Green/Blue) Green Polyp Sunset Montipora LA Lakers Montipora Green and Red Montipora Digitata Orange Florida Ricordea Purple Gorgonian Green Orange Leptastrea Bicolor Frogspawn Fish Tailspot Blenny (planned) Clownfish (maybe) Inverts Blue-Legged Hermits Banded Trochus Snails Established July 2016 Link to comment

jc2014
Overly blue photos of tanks on 10-27-2016. I'm still fiddling with the white balance and my light settings. Apologies. Zoas/Blasto/Duncan/GSP 8 headed Duncan (I bought as a single head a long long time ago) Green Psammacora (encrusting rock at the moment) Mushroom Invasion (temporary tank - not transferring to the IM20) Growing Monti Frags (not going to the IM20 either) GSP overwhelming (kill it with fire!!!) Two many tanks Link to comment

vlangel
I am like you in that I like to focus on just 1 tank, any more is two many! I like what you did with the half moon scape wise. It will be fun to see what you do with the Fusion 20. Link to comment

It will be fun to see what you do with the Fusion 20. Haha the half moon scape was pretty much a dump into tank and pray exercise. Now I've got to figure out what to do with all these beginner coral pieces (GSP, red monti, yellow polyps, mushrooms). I also need to find a new home for my bicolor dottyback too. Link to comment
vlangel
I am in the same boat because tomorrow I will be upgrading from a 36 gallon bowfront tank to a 56 gallon column. I have some creatures that will not be going into the 56 so I am offering them free to local aquarists. Link to comment
nickyJ
How do you like the Mame skimmer? any setup tips? I just got a similar skimmer for my Nuvo 25 and am working on dialing it in. Link to comment
jc2014
How do you like the Mame skimmer? any setup tips? I just got a similar skimmer for my Nuvo 25 and am working on dialing it in. As far as setup goes, I got the smallest air pump that I could find. As far as dialing it in, there is the adjustable airflow clamp that comes with the unit, which does allow for some adjustment. For further safety, I've also added a one way value to the air pump line. This may restrict air flow a bit, but I dont have to worry about water somehow traveling up the line into the pump, which is literally impossible, but I'm paranoid. Other than these tips, just gotta put the bad boy in and adjust so the foam can travel down to the collection container. Even though the foam may not reach the top of the body, in due time, you'll see waste collecting in reservoir. You'll be amazed what gets pulled out. If you get a whiff of the collection container contents when you empty it, you'll know what I mean. Yuck! Link to comment
thedon986
Sweet new setup! I haven't been keeping up on threads lately, but this looks great! Regretting selling me that Ecotech RF module? Hahah, I love that thing with the Reeflink. Link to comment
jc2014
Sweet new setup! I haven't been keeping up on threads lately, but this looks great! Regretting selling me that Ecotech RF module? Hahah, I love that thing with the Reeflink. No regrets at all! I'm glad you were able to put it to use. I was able to get another one and a reeflink using the classifieds really quick. This nano-reef community is awesome. Link to comment
jc2014
I got more coral! Green Polyped Sunset Monti Pink Stylo (transferred from the other tank) Purple Stylo (from other tank) and Orange Ricordea The stylo frag plugs were once covered in a ton of GHA. As part of the transfer process I cleaned up the frags as best I could with tweezers, and then set them in the sandbed. I placed a few of my hermits on to the plugs so that they could get to work. Two days later they are all clean! Clean up crew FTW! Link to comment
jc2014
On Nov 20, more coral was acquired. This was my largest coral haul yet. thedon986
Tank is looking good. New FTS shows great progress. Where are you getting your frags around here? Or are you buying online? I pick up some stuff on WAMAS here or there, but the store options I've found are pretty limited. Link to comment
jc2014
Tank is looking good. New FTS shows great progress. Where are you getting your frags around here? Or are you buying online? I pick up some stuff on WAMAS here or there, but the store options I've found are pretty limited. Thanks! Now I have to figure out where to put everything. I wish I had one of those Gryphon bandsaws... So my favorite LFS is Incredible Corals in Manassas. I've gotten my fish and a decent amount of my coral from them. My blastos, leptastrea, hammers, ricordea, and sunset monti are from them. Also check out Blue Ribbon Koi, which is not far from Incredible Corals. They have a pretty decent selection of coral and fish as well. Another spot I hit up regularly is Reef eScape in Fairfax. They are my go to place for snails, and they sell frags that they get from the reef tank at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum because they maintain it. They also have a great selection of fish. Lastly, I also obtained a decent amount of coral from friends and other hobbyists on craigslist. As far as online, I've only bought zoanthids from SaltCritters. They sell some really nice stuff. thedon986
So any good finds? I didn't stop by those places. I picked up three frags from a WAMAS member instead. Two acros, an undetermined tenuis and a frogskin acro, and also a frag of Darth Maul porites for $50. Hard to shop at a LFS when the size frag of porites I got would be $50 alone. Link to comment
