taat2d
Anyone using this skimmer? I know it needs to prime for a few day before it can be dialed in but it's freaking out on me. I have the adjustable pump turned down to its lowest output but this thing is pumping out massive amounts of bubbles. I have the bottom of the cup about an inch higher than the rim of the JBJ 28g cube. It kinda look like someone put bubble bath in a hot tub. LOL Thanks in advance Link to comment
Astinus
I have and am using this product. I adjust the Bubbling Tube adjusted so that the bubbles just break at the bottom of the cup. I too had some getting used to it. Play with adjusting the tube and see how that works. In a month or so, u will NEED to replace the Air-stone. That was a PITA at 1st. Link to comment

How often do you need to replace the air stone? Is there a more permanent solution to changing the stone every month? Link to comment
Astinus
Sadly, no.It is made of wood and I Hadn't replaced it for 2 or 3 months. I noticed a definite decline in output. It is recommended to replace Monthly. When I pulled the stone, it was Nasty! All gunked up with Slime and just NASTY! I Did not know this at the time. On a positive side, the Air-stone is cheap enough. Under 2 bux. Link to comment
taat2d
How do you get the stone out? Does the bottom pop off to access it? Link to comment
Astinus
I had to pull mine out from Top. The air Hosing is a bit of a PITA to work with, but can be done. (It's Tricky) I did try to pull apart the bottom, but I couldn't. I was afraid of breaking it. Link to comment
