xilez
Panning to start a cycle in my new tank next weekend (Mr Aqua 12L with additional 6 gallons via HOB Sump) and I just had a question about Dr Tims dosing. I am doing the one and only (https://www.amazon.com/DrTims-Aquatics-Nitrifying-Bacteria-Aquariums/dp/B001LUOB6W) 4 oz bottles and the dosing says to start with essentially 3-4 capfuls for my tank... But I have seen reports of people just dumping in the whole bottle. Thoughts? Thanks! Link to comment

ReefSafeSolutions
I believe the instructions on the bottle say you can't overdose, so you may as well dump the whole bottle in. Not much point in keeping a little extra around, unless you're planning on cycling another tank in the near future! That said about the instructions...I don't remember when the instructions say to add a fish, but I'm pretty sure you don't want to add a fish as soon as they say. I think BioSpira says to add a fish right away or something...either way, do all the tests to make sure it is safe to add a fish before you drop a fish in there. Link to comment
