brains613
Hey guys, I recently joined after setting up two small tanks. I've had aquariums before, even a large saltwater tank about 10 years ago. Here's what I need help with. I bought some live rock and put it in the tank, after a couple days, I started to see what's pictured below. (At one point, I thought I saw it on the glass!) My questions: 1.) What do I have here? 2.) How do I take care of it? Now the pictures: Link to comment

brains613
Oh! So I don't actually WANT to take care of it. Cool. That would explain why I saw one on the glass, and why I think the rock now has several in different places. Looks like I should grab some peppermint shrimp. Link to comment
PwnMe
Do you want peppermint shrimp? Because they are fussy. I've had 1 out of 4 that like eating the anemones. I prefer Joe's Juice to get rid of them. They think its food, So they don't retract. Link to comment
Tamberav
Skip peps unless you want them. They can steal food and harass corals and don't always eat the nems. Boiling water in a syringe will kill them. Link to comment
Dreichler
ya i would avoid any natural way of killing them, like using shrimps. i took this road one time and spent days trying to get them out after they wouldn't even look at aiptasia even though they were pretty much on top of it... get some Red Sea Aiptasia X Link to comment
Clown79
Skip the peppermints. They don't always eat aips and often go after corals. 2 decimated 3 brains in my tank and never touched aips. Aiptasia x works on them far better than the shrimp Link to comment
ninjamyst
just know u may have to try aiptasia X a couple of times. make sure you really get into their mouth Link to comment
PwnMe
You can follow any of our suggestions. They all work pretty well. Link to comment
msparklym13
HI! Do you think this is Aptasia also? It recently showed up in my tank but a number of my corals fell through some rocks so I thought it was a coral. Thoughts? Link to comment
