Okay for macro?

It really depends on the individual macro that you got. Some deep water macro like Dragons Breath and Red Grapes are collected between 30'-130' of water. At that depth, all the red is filtered out and the intensity is much less than you will have in your tank. What macros did you get?

So i just got a macro pack and I'm wondering if my lighting is adequate. its 108 watts. they are the E27 plant growth lights. they are very purple but here is the link.http://www.ebay.com/itm/311650696002?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=610571904144&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITits the 54 watt one. i have two of them on my 20 long.

When macro grows, it converts light energy into chemical energy to convert carbon dioxide into sugar. To accomplish this, all plants use photoreceptors called chlorophyll. Chlorophyll A & B have peak energy transfer at the red and blue spectrum.

While not an LED expert, I have been told that a white LED is a combination of red, green and blue. If a purple tank is unattractive to you, then a lamp with blue and white LED will satisfy the light requirement of the macro. I like a combination of 1:1 that gives a color in the tank of 12K. IMO, with higher Kelvin numbers the reds and greens of the macros are washed out and they don't display as well. With your lamps, I would guess that the color rendition of the tank >20K.

Depending on the macro, I think your light intensity may be too high.

honestly I like the purple look. If you think the light is too much I could raise them up.

It is not what I think. You must observe and respond if required, just as a farmer or gardener. Depending on the macros, they would show too much light differently. Red Grapes flotation balls would begin to turn white and fall off. Ulva would also turn white on the tips.

It has been a week, if nothing bad has happened yet, I would say enjoy your purple tank.
