iHexBot
I am looking to buy a pump for my sump. My main tank has ~20G of water and my sump is going to hold about ~6G of water (~26G total). My sump will be located 48" below my tank. What would you suggest for a pump that is going to give me 3x to 5x turnover when taking into account the head loss? Cheers. Link to comment

zsxking
Looking at Jebao DCT 3000, max flow: 845GPH; max head: 9.2ft. The more head it is, the faster flow rate reduce. Your case is about half of it's head, so it is safe to bet it can do at least half of the max flow, that would be 400GPH. That's 20x turn over. Other fittings and stuff will reduce effective as well. But even if it take away half, that will still be 10x turn over available. So it should be more than enough. Shop around to see what you can find. Link to comment

Thanks, unfortunately I do not want 10x turn over for my sump. Looking for something closer to 3x to 5x turnover through my sump. My display tank will have a higher turnover rate through my power heads. Link to comment

I basically showed that its max capacity will be more than sufficient, so you have the room to adjust it to your need. Link to comment
