ps2cho
My pH probe is about 2 years old now. I probably should have calibrated it again after new but never did. When exactly should they be replaced? When they cannot be calibrated with pH solution? pH doesn't seem to really matter on an established tank hence why I haven't really cared about it. Link to comment

dandelion
I have a new pH prove that's defective or something. It refuses to calibrate but like you said pH doesn't really matter that much so I never replaced it. Link to comment
zsxking
I have one probe went malfunction. It was like one day my tank PH went from 8 to 6 in a single day. But the animals in tank looked still normal, and calibration didn't work. Then I knew it's more likely the probe had problem than the tank. So I replaced it and reading came back to normal again. ps2cho
I've been doing more research and want to confirm... So to determine IF the probe is bad, you calibrate on day 1 to pH packet. Then if 24hrs later drop the probe in the same packet - if the pH is not the same its bad? Then maybe retest a week later to be sure? Is that a good way to do it? Link to comment
