KnH
So my tank is narrow 8" and shallow 8", I am going to use a two bulb T-5 ho fixture. Do I need to add LEDs to supplement the two t-5 bulbs? Blue + & Purple + The fixture will be sitting directly on the top of the aquarium, If I was going to add an LED strip to the light fixture, it would be a single row The issue is that fixture will be sitting directly over the water 1-Spacing is one issue 2-Color mix is the other issue, single driver or a driver for the RB and NW RB-NW-RB-NW........ or 3-ups, along the lines of the OCW , what spacing for the 3-ups? or A combination of both 3-Looking for coverage and less about penetration would 350ma be enough? (Steves new version SemiLeds ) Thanks Link to comment
Matteo
frag tank? being so close to water I wouldn't add LED stars however you could do strip lighting if you wanted? http://www.amazon.com/TrueLumen-Aquatic-LED-10-Inch-2-12000k/dp/B003XX8CEW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1464208855&sr=8-4&keywords=reef+led+strips You do not "need" the LEDs it will mostly be preference Link to comment
Caravanshaka
I would suggest putting some of Nanobox Beam Glow actinic strips in there for the LEDs, and use the T5's for more of the white color (coral +). That way you won't have to blend white and blue LED's in a strip, which will be extremely difficult. Oh, and 350 mah will be plenty for that depth. Link to comment
Reefkid88
Id suggest a TruLumen strip to fill in that spot or a few royals from StevesLeds the cheap ones and a nano driver from rapidled. Link to comment
